Dedicated to the memory of Mark Berggren

This site is a tribute to Mark Berggren, who was born in Chicago Illinois on July 07, 1952. He is much loved and will always be remembered.  He had been sick for awhile.  Losing weight and digestive problems.  He had been going to the doctors and getting tests done and at first had been diagnosed with Celiac disease.  He didn't get any better and was still losing weight.  One weekend he became jaundice and was admitted to the hospital.  After running a few tests it was discovered that he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had spread to the liver.  Our world crashed that day, it was April 30th.  He was released from the hospital a few days later.  We weren't given much hope but Mark wasn't ready to give up yet.  He had decided that he would give chemotherapy a try.  After the 2nd treatment it took everything he had.  All his blood counts were practically nothing so the doctor recommended delaying the chemo a few weeks.  It was then that we decided no more chemo.  Just to enjoy what time he had left.  Sadly he was to sick to even do that.  He wasn't able to eat and keep anything down and he just kept getting weaker and weaker.  The last week in June he was so weak he had to be placed in a hospice facility and died there a few days later on July 2.  Worse day of my life.
